@PumpkinEater69 Yeah I would prefer the framework to not be embedded (almost everyone has it installed anyway, due to SHVDN and such). Sharing the source code would be a big plus.

Another point I wanted to make: why is the initial version 2.1? That seems kinda odd.

Automated analysis has marked this as malicious. It is indeed way too large for such a simple program. Either share the source code or rework it.

@nenlee No, because it's not needed for Legacy.

@JumWubble That's most likely an RPH/LSPDFR issue. I cannot help with that. Please also share your DirectStorageFix.log (in the game directory or in %APPDATA%).

@Spogew Are you saying it worked in the previous version? I did not change anything regarding the DirectStorage detection, so that would be quite odd. Note that the game only uses DirectStorage on Windows 11 and when installed on an NVMe drive (unless you force it using a command line argument).

@William Halverd No, Legacy doesn't use DirectStorage.

@ShadowOne I have no clue what you're talking about. We came up with this idea after a discussion in the 5Mods Discord.

@sjaak327 Made a stupid mistake due to an incorrect assumption about a parameter (Microsoft's annotation can be confusing sometimes). Will be fixed shortly.

@sjaak327 Try this one please: https://aka.alloc8or.re/2G3Jm5h4 Debug logging is enabled in this build, which should help figuring out what's wrong.

@sjaak327 Yeah, moving these files to AppData or Documents is generally a good idea to bypass this and similar write protections. My fix can be especially helpful for scripts that no longer get updated (or the author simply can't/won't do it). And who knows, maybe R* will actually change this behavior to be not as aggressive in a future update, resolving this issue. Kind of ridiculous to permanently register every single file with DirectStorage.

Regarding the "DirectStorage not enabled" warning: do you still have -forcewin32 in your command line?
