@Corey650 the point is creators have incentive to adapt their mods to use these features. It will take time, but some will do it eventually. And everything a casual user has to do, is download this script, or have it installed already when car mods with these adapted functions start to pop up.
I don't understand the meaning of "9 of 10 people have modded cars not vanilla" - cars need to be adapted, so this won't work out of the box with vanilla cars, even those need to be modified. So be it lore friendly or irl cars, it will work the same way and it's on creators to make them compatible.
@mrwallace888 I think you can make paddle shifters with this by making a bone for each shifter, and setting them up like this:

I haven't tested this, but if I understand correctly minimum value is the downshift rotation, and max is upshift.
so setting them individually will make only one of them go off at the time. Might need actual testing to prove this.

as a VQ owner I can say this sounds pretty good. Not 100% accurate but good.
