OpenRPF is an alternative to OpenIV.asi, which is now obsolete with GTA V's Enhanced version. It works in the same way, allowing modified files to be loaded from a mods folder, thus avoiding the need to modify the game's original files.
Features:
• OPEN & encrypted compatibility: OpenRPF supports both the game's native archives and those created with OpenIV (OPEN). No need to re-encrypt your modified files.
• rpf.cache bypass on Gen9: OpenRPF bypasses the rpf.cache for modified files placed in the mods folder, allowing them to load without additional intervention.
• Integrated ASI Loader: Just like OpenIV provided dinput8.dll, OpenRPF includes dsound.dll to enable ASI plugin loading in GTA V Enhanced (as well as loading OpenRPF.asi).
• Performance optimization: OpenIV.asi could cause slowdowns due to inefficient file loading management. OpenRPF fixes this issue for a smoother gaming experience.
Installation:
1. Extract the archive contents into the GTA V Enhanced directory (where GTA5_Enhanced.exe is located).
2. Create a mods folder.
3. Place your modified RPF archives inside this folder, just like with OpenIV.asi.
4. Launch the game and enjoy your mods on the Enhanced version of GTA V.
Warnings:
• The mod does not change file versions: Gen8 (GTA V Legacy) files on Gen9 (GTA V Enhanced) will cause a crash if used. Ensure you use GTA V Enhanced compatible files or convert them using Dexyfex's tool in CodeWalker.
• Some resources are not yet perfectly converted by CodeWalker: which may cause crashes or visual anomalies. If you encounter issues, feel free to report them on the CodeWalker Discord.

Yeah judgeing by everyones issues, this isnt user error. This crap needs to be updateded.
will you release an update of this mod?
will you release an update of this mod?
Hello! My game version is GTAV Enhanced 1.0.812.8.
And OpenRPF doesn't work. It don't load my mod rpf from mods folder.
ScriptHookV is work with no problem.
I don't know OpenRPF support 812.8 or not.
@Double0Fqt @J-Glenn64 Please make the effort to read the description and the pinned message to resolve any issues you may encounter. OpenRPF still works very well on the latest version of the game (813.11).
Also note that Open RPF will NEVER support cracked versions of the game (RUNE for example) if you are in this situation.
Can confirm that this no longer works. I was interested for the longest time to play GTA V Enhanced, only to find out that the "modding core" of this version of the game is not compatible... very upsetting. Was really hoping to just replace files inside of the games RPF archive instead of using a "mods" folder, but that doesn't work either.
I tried everyone's potential workaround's, but I can also confirm they do not work. Using STEAM, latest version of the game as well. Once I put OpenRPF files in my directory, the game opens for a few seconds and then closes immediately. Is it possible that this is being blocked by something? I wish we had a real answer.
Tried removing xinput1_4.dll and openiv.rpf and ONLY using dsound.dll and openrpf.asi, STEAM startup parameters and nothing works. The only thing I can get working is a "non-modded" version of the game... OpenRPF does NOT work anymore.
PLEASE UPDATE. The OpenIV team is nowhere to be seen and we have been dying to play with mods on raytraced GTA 5 for the longest time.
@Transmet
Game opens then closes... this is no longer working.
@Transmet. Dont patronize me
How about make an effort to just update it? I own the game. I have no issues before the game updated
Since you've created an Enhanced alternative to OpenIV.asi, do you also plan to make an Enhanced alternative for OpenIV's openCamera.asi?
I make a lot of content with the Rockstar Editor, and being able to remove the camera restrictions was an extremely useful tool, and it would be amazing to get this ability in Enhanced too. I tried taking the original file from OpenIV's files and using it on Enhanced, but it didn't work, saldy.
@Double0Fqt Your approach is rude. This "crap" as you say, require extremely complex reverse engineering and coding work, which takes several days just to study x86 assembly code — and all of that is done FOR FREE. Read your comment again. This kind of behavior is exactly what discourages mod authors from working on or updating their mods.
Obviously, I’m only referring to certain individuals; the majority of people here are appreciative of the effort, and that’s what motivates us to keep investing our time.
I’ll buy the game on Steam and check what’s wrong with the Steam version, but let me be clear — I’m absolutely not doing this for you, but for the other players who are grateful or at least polite about free work.
@ZodiacBullYT Hi, no we don't have plans to work on a Enhanced version of OpenCamera but it's an interesting idea that I'm keeping in mind for later! even though I don't have enough free time to make a promise about it.
This is weird, I was installing mods 2 days ago, and everything worked. I botched my installation and decided to reinstall, now nothing works anymore, besides the tools to mod the game, no RPF change is taking effect in-game AFAIK. What did just happened?
I updated my game to 813.11 last night from Epic.
I will try testing whether openrpf work or not.
OK Now I know why openrpf not work for me.
It was actually My Drive C fault.
My drive C doesn't allow interfacing the game folder.
Even codewalker cange the rpf file, actually nothing will change.
So I made Epic Games folder to full control and now Mod is working.
Everything works well on my end, of course if i don't remove cache.rpf the game crashes
@Transmet, no problem at all. Thanks for the reply.
I'll keep looking for other alternatives that work for Enhanced, though I'm not too hopeful as of yet. But I'll also be sure to keep an eye out for your projects too, in case you change your mind once you have more free time like you mentioned.
Thank you for your contributions to GTA Enhanced modding thusfar. :)
Made an account just to post to say thank you, this is indeed working, however a lot of old mods are not with it, but this is not an issue of your own, initially I experienced same as others and had crashes when putting in mods, then I started rewriting files using similar changes that the mods did and found they worked. ALSO I noticed if you just created mods and put update.rpf in there it won't work, you need to create mods with an update folder and then put update.rpf inside of the update folder, i.e. you must match the same folder layout as the game itself and it will work perfectly.
4 n e 1 have crash issues on startup, remove rpf.cache and try running game with a empty mods folder, do not put anything from the gta 5 directory in mods, test to see if game loads, download enhanced mods like the lamborghini aventador and put it directly into the mods folder
This is very exciting! I'm really glad to see there's been inspiration to continue to work of OpenIV. Excited to try this out when I jump back into the modding scene, you've got my follow for sure!!
@Transmet Hello brother. Thank you for share your work with us. I have a question about this mod and enhanced version. I am still using normal version of gta v but I decided to move on enhanced version. So with this mod can we install add on cars to enhanced version? And if yes i have another question.
Do car mods need to support and be compatible with enhanced version or we can install any of them?
