This is might be the best guide for GTA Modding ever, love the cover works and the guide itself, so detailed and easy to understand. It's like Rockstar from other dimension, and they support modding, this might the quality you might get from them
11/10
@gtavjamal A moderator here, decompiled, edited, and uploaded my TV script on pastebin - without permission. This was under the false pretense that my script was causing crashes (it wasn't) and his edited version would fix all issues and school me at the same time. Well wrong on all counts. The script was fine and my knowledge is light years ahead of his.
@JohnFromGWN Sorry to hear that. Damn that sux! Now the community misses out. You were on a roll again!
Surprising it was a moderator since everyone knows the default rule of no uploading someone elses mods to other sites unless the author says otherwise.
@gtavjamal It was very surprising and definitely set a precedent...so after short reflection, I thought F it. I'm taking all the scripts down. It's just the principle - taking someone's work, decompiling it, making changes, and then publicly posting it - without any permission nor any consideration for the author.
@JohnFromGWN Fair enough good call! I am guessing you are rather passionate about scripting but,,,
тАЬNever put passion before principle. Even if win, you loseтАЭ - Mr Miyagi
@gtavjamal That sums it up pretty well.
@JohnFromGWN Hey, I really need to ask you a question about GTA V, you know, now it calls Grand Theft Auto V Legacy, right? so, just a few days after GTA V been renamed, I started to notice very strange things happening with my game, at first I had to reinstall it, cause for some reason the Rockstar Games launcher didn't found it, and it worked, but now I even can't launch my game, I just see the loadscreen forever... I tried to figure out what exactly causes this, but I still haven't found any logically explainable solution... of course, when I temporarily removed all the mods, my game works, but the problem here seems to be in something else, because when I return all the mods back, the game in most cases continues to work, and I can play even with mods, but... sometimes after I exiting the game, and tries to launch it again, I can't do it because the launcher doesn't see the game again, or because it appears again the loadscreen forever. I don't think I need to contact Rockstar support with this, caus the mods... so, I hope you can help me somehow, I will be very happy if you just answer me anything about this. Thank youЁЯСП
@JohnFromGWN Looks like it was my fault and my game wouldn't load because of some broken MLO mod... despite the fact that I used this mod before, and it worked, I think my issue with infinite loadscreen is solved. Thank you againЁЯСП
@ALEXSYS Hi, I'm sorry, I just saw your post now but it seems, thankfully, that you fixed your issue. Good! You know sometimes we make very small changes to the game or R* makes a minor change and all of a sudden the game hangs or crashes. Frustrating, but that's the reality. You did the right thing - you first check to see if the game itself runs ok without mods. Then by elimination you remove mods. A few weeks ago I had loaded the Nordschleife mod which I hadn't loaded for a long time and it crashed my game immediately. I couldn't figure it out and out of frustration I went to look at the comments page and there was a fix suggested and it worked. Now here's the funny part. My game is frozen at 2372 and has been frozen for ages so it did not make sense for this mod to all of a sudden crash. But even though my mods are frozen, the rest of the game is updated so obviously something in the update changed everything. This has only happened once to me since i reverted but it just shows you how any change - the one we make to hardware, software, or mods - can break our game.
@JohnFromGWN I didn't saw this before, but this one hell of a guide it's the A to Z of gta modding. I really like that. Quality work.
@F7YO Thank you sir and thank you for your dedication to gameconfig.xml mods for our community.
@JohnFromGWN, why did you delete it bro? Script mejorado para compa├▒eros del ej├йrcito.
@VICTOR RIVERA Hubo muy pocas descargas. Para m├н, eso significaba que la comunidad no estaba interesada. Creo que todos los mods impopulares deber├нan eliminarse.
@JohnFromGWN Apologies wrong mod comments.
Nooooooooooo! I see your other mods have vanished.
Did someone break the rules again and in need of a damn good spanking?
I was just about to get your latest update for Create Ped Scenes, I am on version 4 atm.
@gtavjamal In Japan, there is a puzzle painting class that teaches to make amazing paints with puzzles. Once the puzzle is completed, they are instructing to destroy the puzzle to teach them not to attach on something for too long. You think @JohnFromGWN might be one of those instructors by any chance? ЁЯе║ЁЯе║ I mean I definitely see a resemblance ЁЯЩИЁЯШЕЁЯШЕ
@MissySnowie Haha alternatively I am thinking the mods of JohnFromGWN will one day become like the lost treasure of Atlantis! Both legendary and prized possessions to anyone lucky enough to acquire them. In every collectible hobby there are always the rare items, rare cards etc which is the case here too. It's a good thing JohnFromGWN is a computer whiz because chances are hackers will be trying to steal all his goodies!
@gtavjamal BTW, my scripts have been uploaded, without permission, to many other GTA V mod sites. I don't care if they do that but I don't recommend downloading from these sites given the scripts may have been altered, they may contain malicious code. Keep in mind also that anti-virus or VirusTotal are for viruses, which doesn't necessarily include malicious code. If you're comfortable using a decompiler, you can verify the code is safe. If not, stay away.

A long time ago, when the Forums were active - the forums removed "for our security", I had once posted that there was too much crap uploaded and suggested if mods were not being downloaded they should be removed.
The suggestion was not well received. I guess quantity is more important than quality and we live in a world where participation rules rather than merit.
All that to say, I stand by what I wrote a few years back. I think the script was a good one but the community didn't share that opinion (low download count) so I removed it. Let's face it, the popular scripts are anything related to Heists and Hot Coffee. A Hot Coffee Heist would receive millions of downloads.
Why clutter the script pages? The Guides I prepared, on the other hand, appear to be well received, because they fill a need for new modders on how to get started and most importantly how to troubleshoot - without endlessly searching through millions of YouTube videos, some very good, but most very bad and outdated.
@JohnFromGWN The other site uploaders generally only do the initial release they rarely seem to bother with updates.
I hear you regarding the cluttering however you know your work is always quality so cluttering doesn't apply to you and popularity doesn't necessarily equate to quality or good taste.
I cant think of the names off the top of my head but there are a few scripts I could tell were good and useful but were over my head to use and I didn't have the need for them at the time but If I ever did it was good to know they were there.
Also many of my favorite scripts were posted years before I joined so always dope af to discover,
Anyway it's totally your call what you wish to share but just know that all your stuff is always on point and much appreciated!
@gtavjamal Once more thank you for the kind words. I'm going to continue work on the Ped Scene Creator, for my personal use, but I realize now that most people are using Menyoo for a similar purpose which is understandable. More and more I'm moving away from Menyoo and writing my own scripts, but the Object Spooner function is still amazing and that's why the original Menyoo is still the best trainer IMO.
@JohnFromGWN I understand. While I agree with you, I also would like to say that low download count doesn't necessarily equal to low quality.
The download count is mostly based on the personal preferences of the narrative and the discoverability.
To say the least, there are many good mods on the sites, but they just not for me. I like them, but for;
1, game has limitations, so can't install every mod I came across and liked,
2, my SSD is also fairly limited,
3, it just wouldn't be for me.
And like I said, the other reason is discoverability. If you pump out new mods in short intervals, it will reach out to more people, if you upload here and there like me, the audience will be much less.
It's kinda a bit like YouTube. There are some channels I came across, that literally make me feel "The Lucky One" ЁЯО░. They are heavily underrated and I feel sorry for everyone else who will never know the existence of such gems ЁЯТО And it would be very saddening for me if they were to gone inactive. Although it's more related to the YT's algorithm, still show some resemblance to discoverability here.
I would respect your decision either way of course, but you need to account some unforeseable situations as well, that are out of your control. The quality can't be calculated simply with download/view count.
My humble suggestion, if I may, you can instead make a mod page here where you upload your scripts in bulk, rather than creating separate mod pages for each of them. That would still prevent clutter while allowing others to download them from the trusted source ЁЯСНЁЯП╗
That being said, I also saw many very low effort uploads get rejected too. Most people just don't bother to knock on 5mods discord, which tells me the actual count is higher. But of course, they are also trying not to discourage the beginners either so ..
