CV-22B Osprey - US Marine Corps Reskin - VMM-163 "Ridge Runners / Evil Eyes"
-------------
* Update: A much more accurate and clean paint job.
**Read the README file. If you already have the Osprey installed this is a very quick YTD image update for you. To make it easy I have added a folder containing the three image files that you will need to use to replace the existing files within the YTD.
***Thank you to Richie01 for his incredibly hi-res pics and to TheSigui for his pretty and dusty screenshot!
First, a huge, sincere thank you to SkylineGTRFreak for all of his amazing models for the GTA community. I deeply appreciate his time, talent, and generous kindness that he has poured into his work for all of us.
SkylineGTRFreak was very kind to provide me with a higer resolution DDS skin of the original model that I modified in Photoshop.
This is my first GTAV skin project; I still have lots to learn. Technically the USMC does not fly the CV-22 Osprey they fly another model, the MV-22 which does not have the large radar boom on the left of the nose of the vehicle. I do not know how to modele vehicles so I just did a re-skin.
Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 163 (VMM-163) is a United States Marine Corps helicopter squadron consisting of MV-22 Osprey transport tiltrotors. The squadron, known as the "Ridge Runners", is based at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California and falls under the command of Marine Aircraft Group 16 (MAG-16) and the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (3rd MAW).
The Squadron's nickname, "Ridge Runners", was bestowed as a result of typhoon rescue and relief operations in the mountainous terrain surrounding Hagman, Japan.
This is a reskin of SkylineGTRFreak's original, amazing, CV-22B Osprey. I have only painted a new USMC skin to replace the USAF one that was in the original package.
The newly painted USMC skin files were injected into the dlc.rpf within the "add-on method" folder so if you are installing for those intalling for the first time you will have the USMC skin rather than the USAF skin that was originally included with SkylineGTRFreaks original model.
The newly painted USMC skin files were inserted into the "vehicle files" folder.
As an aside, I personally have chosen to use the replace method but have chosen to replace the Titan that spawns at Fort Zancudo. If you would like to do the same you will need to replace the Titan files in the "patchday12ng" folder and update the related file for handling. I recommend that you use a "mods" folder and that I am not responsible for any errors or crashes that you encounter. That being said, my game is stable, I have Ospreys with this skin auto-spawning where Titans used to spawn and it looks pretty awesome.
I hope that you enjoy this skin. I love the tailart and eyes at the front :P
If you have any recommendations on edits or would like another USMC skin from a different squadron please let me know in the comments section where you downloaded the file.
Installation: Read the README file.
Kind regards and happy modding.

Nice skin.
@AKmaster
Hey man! I have discussed this with SkylineGTRFreak in the past. That is a MV-22, so if and when SkylineGTRFreak makes that model he might do that skin. That model would have to have a special interior and gloss layer for the exterior... To be honest it is above my technical know how at this point. I am going to do another USMC squadron; probably the "Blue Knights" unless someone has another one they are interested in.
@kingboughey
@Akila_Reigns
Thank you!
塗裝好漂亮
來做個ROCAF的(?
@erictsai1224tw
ROCAF不會飛這架飛機。我可以做一個假裝的油漆給你,如果你喜歡。 :)
nice your first Project is here.
我知道目前中華民國空軍並未有魚鷹機服役 純粹想當紀念機
請問你目前有計畫將之前他的F-16畫一些ROC(尤其是太陽神!!!!)或美軍的塗裝嗎
畫這個真的超猛..

good job
Nice work, now for the rest :D
@Richie01 lol
As a united states marine, i work closely with VMM-163 and see their birds every day. The eyes on your skin are a little off. They are larger, higher and more spaced apart. Also since you're using their #00 bird, its eyes are black with red pupils because aircraft numbered 00 or "nuts" as we like to call them, are our icon birds and are usually painted to stand out more. Also, I would like to point out that we call our birds MV-22 and not CV-22 because that's what the chair force *ahem* air force names them ;) our ospreys are also slightly different than theirs and don't have that hideous looking thing on the nose. Just here to give you pointers in making your skin look more authentic.
@Jbroccoli Hi man! Thank you for the feedback. This skin was my first attempt at making a USMC skin for the Osprey. At the time it was made I was just altering the skin of a USAF CV-22 that is why it has the nose radar cone. You may find a much more accurate MV-22 Osprey that I made skins for at a later date: https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/usmc-mv-22b-8-liveries-w-illuminated-rotors
I hope that you will take a look and provide feedback on that mod. Kind regards.
tf? why this is not featured
@Abby Radke Haha... well, my other, later versions with the new more realistic model and skins was featured. This was my early work of reskining the CV-22B. The US Marines do not fly the CV-22B, they fly the MV-22B. After SkylineGTRFreak was so kind to make me a new model I created much more detailed and accurate skins for the MV-22B with 8 liveries. Check it out here: https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/usmc-mv-22b-8-liveries-w-illuminated-rotors
@DarthPungz How did I get this blue tint on the windows, like in the Screenshots (They are nice btw)
@QuadGore Hello, I believe that this was achieved via ENB (heightened saturation and contrast) with a bright blue sky... so what you are seeing is the blue sky reflection on the glass.
@DarthPungz ty :)
DOPE!
